Pak Khlong Talad, better known by visitors as simply the flower market, is the city’s biggest and busiest market for fresh flowers. And while Pak Khlong Talad primarily services wholesalers and professional florists, it’s also great for anyone wishing to buy a single arrangement or just to see the vibrant colours and take in the wonderful aromas.
The market is open 24 hours and remains busy throughout the night. But, if you really want to see some serious flower trading, go in the early-morning hours before dawn when buyers and sellers make their transactions.
Retail prices are reasonable, but keep in mind that during various festivals some flowers can be three to four times more expensive.
Pak Khlong Talad is near the Chao Phraya River at Pak Khlong Talad Pier and adjacent Yodpiman River Walk lifestyle mall. You can reach the market from Novotel Bangkok Silom Road by catching Chao Phraya Express Boat (blue flag or orange flag) at Sathorn Pier in about 20 minutes.
Alternatively, with the new update on MRT Blue Line extension in July 2019, now you can visit this flower market easily by starting at the closet MRT Silom station then get off at MRT Sanamchai station directly.
