Declared as the world’s largest building made of golden teak, this Bangkok Culture tourist spot, Vimanmek Mansion, was first built as a royal residence of King Rama V. This amiable landmark is inspired by many royal palaces in Europe with the perfect combinations of its interior design blends together Europe’s neoclassical style, traditional Thai motifs and the modernization of early 20th century. Vimanmek Mansion was lately renovated by HM Queen Sirikit and turned into a museum paying homage to the late king. The museum has grown to cover more than a dozen restored structure of the old Dusit Palace exhibiting Kind Rama V’s photographs, personal arts and handicrafts.
