A home to the royal barges, the Royal Barges National Museum showcases eight royal barges preserved for royal ceremonies and rare state occasions (some only made an appearance on the water 16 times in the last 65 years). Discover the most significant royal barges including the Suphannahong Royal Barge, the highest-ranked royal barge which the King is usually aboard in. A variety of remarkable models of royal boats and oarsmen’s uniform collection are also on display.
Located on the banks of Bangkok Noi canal at Thonburi side of Bangkok, from Novotel Bangkok Silom Road, take the Chao Phraya Express Boat to Wang Lang Pier (N10), then it’s a short walk to the museum, or include it in a day trip to Rattanakosin Island.
